ear piercing

One of the most important parts of getting your ears pierced is taking care of them. In order to obtain the best results

I am thoroughly trained in ear piercing procedures and health and hygiene precausions to avoid any infections or cross contamination.

I only pierce the lower lobe and I do not pierce any other parts of the body.

Do not do the piercing yourself and do not let anyone who is not a professional do it either. This will help you avoid infection. Never rush into a piercing. Select the stud carefully and avoid studs made of nickel or brass, which can cause allergic reactions. Look for studs made of titanium, 14-carat gold or surgical-grade steel.

Sterile is an absolute; something is either sterile or it is not. There is no in-between.

Cleaning Your Piercing:
1. First, wash your hands thoroughly. Never touch your piercing or jewellery with dirty hands.
2. Saturate a cotton ball with warm water, and gently wipe away any "crusties" that have gathered around the piercing site. Throw the cotton ball away.
3. Apply a generous amount of liquid soap to your hand, and apply to the piercing site and  stud Make sure you get the soap everywhere, but rotating the stud is not really necessary unless you notice it trying to "stick" to your skin.
4. Rinse the piercing and stud several times with warm water, ensuring that all soap has been removed.
5. Dry your piercing with a clean paper towel, and throw the towel away.

Ear piercing has existed continuously since ancient times, including throughout the twentieth century in the Western world. However, in the mainstream Western culture of North America, Europe, Australasia, etc., it became a relative rarity from the 1920s until the 1960s. At that time, it regained popularity among westernized women, and was eventually adopted by men in the hippie community, and later the punk subculture before it broke into the mainstream. Ear piercing, of either or both ears, has always been practiced by men in many non-Western cultures. By the 1980s, male ear piercing had become somewhat common in westernized cultures, although men usually only pierced one of their ears. Today, single and multiple piercing of either or both ears is extremely common among Western women and somewhat common among men.
